Position Information:

The College of Health and Wellness seeks an innovative, visionary leader to lead the new Master of Health Science in Integrative Care including three areas of specialization/certificates and the NBC-HWC coaching certificate. This individual will demonstrate a passion and vision for the future of healthcare as integrative and collaborative, as well as a track record of academic and/or clinical roles related to integrative care. They will access their national network of integrative care leaders as a resource for developing the program into one with a strong national presence and outstanding reputation.

The successful candidate will be comfortable as the primary representative of the program and be willing able to promote the program and the University at national conferences, on social media, in promotional materials and in the press.

As a leader of a fully online program with faculty and students from across the U.S. and beyond, this leader will have a demonstrated ability to engage and inspire faculty and students through the use of technology and creative approaches to learning.

We anticipate the time allocation to be approximately 40% administration and 60% teaching, subject to change as the program evolves. This is a year-round, faculty position where academic rank and compensation will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN or Fully Remote.

Relocation: Relocation assistance is available if the selected candidate decides to relocate.

Duties:

The program chair recruits, manages, and evaluates faculty. The program chair acts on behalf of the program in allocating resources, submitting course schedules, managing facilities, and communicating program needs.

The program chair serves as the principal liaison between the program and other campus departments.

The program chair carries principal responsibility for carrying out the following tasks:

  • Lead and manage the program accreditation compliance requirements to the extent they are applicable
  • Shared responsibility for meeting program enrollment goals in partnership with Admissions and Marketing
  • Manage program expenses to promote overall fiscal sustainability of the program
  • Maintain and enhance the academic quality of the program through facilitating regular review and assessment of its curriculum
  • Work with college dean to develop and monitor the program budget
  • Manage the program to ensure course coverage
  • Provide liaison, information, and evaluations to administrative offices, faculty committees, ad hoc committees, and other groups
  • Monitor course registrations and make appropriate adjustments in course schedules and instructor assignments in cooperation with the Registrar and Dean's Office

What you need to have?

  • Master's degree required in a healthcare field related to one or more of the areas of focus for the full program (e.g., public health, integrative health, healthcare administration).
  • Experience in roles that required exceptional communication and demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships.
  • Health Coach with the NBC-HWC credential required
  • Evidence of ability or prior experience in online instruction required
  • Doctoral degree - PhD or professional degree preferred
  • Higher education administration and experience leading and managing faculty in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Postsecondary online teaching experience preferred
  • Academic program leadership experience preferred
