Position Summary: Northwestern Health Sciences University is pleased to announce an opening for a full time Disability & Mental Health Services Program Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a team of professionals dedicated to student success and wellbeing. The Program Manager administers the University's academic accommodations program, and helps to promote mental well-being for our student population. This work is accomplished through: robust needs assessment to ensure students are well-served by our disability and mental health services, the issuance and implementation of academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities; the promotion of counseling and mental health services available to students, including our partnership with Studentlinc; and through community programming and 1:1 student support to promote student success and foster a culture of belonging. The Program Manager partners with passionate, supportive faculty, to support the implementation of academic accommodations, and serves as a liaison to our counseling partners at Studentlinc.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN in-person with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed.


  • Administer the University's Disability Services Program
  • Support student mental health on campus through programming, 1:1 support, and partnership with our counseling services partner, Studentlinc
  • Ensure effective functioning of the Accommodations Testing Center
  • Conduct regular needs assessment related to student disability and mental health services, and track outcomes for these programs

What you need to have?

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in the field of higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in a Student Affairs office is required
  • Experience supporting the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities
  • Ability to interpret neuropsychological testing and other assessments
  • Strong working knowledge of the ADA and similar laws and regulations
  • Experience developing co-curricular programming for a university community
  • Experience in crisis intervention and case management
  • Experience in the development of academic success skills and strong working knowledge of academic skills needed to be successful in graduate school environment
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with FERPA, and ability to handle sensitive and private information appropriately
