Position Information:

This is an adjunct faculty position teaching in our exciting new Shiatsu program. The Adjunct Faculty will be responsible for development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the theoretical and clinical components of assigned courses.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed

Course Assignment Specifics: Foundations of Shiatsu Therapy

Duties:

  • Develop course content
  • Create a clear syllabus aligning with program standards including all required and relevant content
  • Apply effective teaching and learning strategies designed to assist students in attaining the learning foundational competencies outlined in the syllabus
  • Engage in regular and substantive interaction with students in ways that supports learning in the course
  • Deliver meaningful assessment strategies to determine student attainment of foundational knowledge and course competencies
  • Provides students with timely and clear feedback
  • Assign grades based on grading policies outlined in the syllabus and student performance on assessments

What you need to have?

  • Graduate of Shiatsu Therapy program, including training in Dr. DoAnn Kaneko's Shiatsu Anma form assessment and application skills
  • Minimum two years' experience as a Shiatsu Therapist
  • Member of American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA)
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Two year's teaching experience
  • Two years' work experience or training in the bodywork field
  • National Certification in Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT), National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and/or National Certification Board for Therapeutic and Bodywork (NCBTMB); Preferred
