Non-benefits-eligible

Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week.

Duties:

  • The library student assistant is the first point of customer service for the library. You will check materials in and out, collect statistics, troubleshoot computer & printing issues to the best of your ability and contact a librarian or IT when you hit a wall. You may occasionally be asked to open or close the library.
  • You'll also answer simple informational questions at the desk and bring in a librarian for higher level questions.
  • Our main hiring focus will likely be students who can work in the morning, afternoon or even on the weekend as those are the available shifts. We have a preference for work study eligible students but please apply even if you don't qualify as candidate availability matching our open shifts is our priority.
  • For that reason, when you apply, please make sure you include your availability. You can also email it to kjacobson@nwhealth.edu to give the full picture if you can't fit it on the application.
Qualifications:
  • We'd like someone with a customer service background but anyone with the capability to be positive and friendly would make an ideal candidate. We can train you on much of the rest so an ability to learn is essential.
  • We do prefer some familiarity with computers to be able to assist with simple questions related to printing and MS Office software. We are looking for someone reliable.
  • If you have any questions, please contact Krista Jacobson in the library. (kjacobson@nwhealth.edu)
