Position Information:

The College of Health and Wellness at NWHSU is pleased to offer a full-time, Clinical Coordinator faculty position in our Radiologic Technology program. The successful candidate will share our vision of becoming the premier provider of Radiologic Technology education in the Midwest and will help advance that vision through their teaching. Faculty members will also contribute to the integrative health focused mission of the University, encouraging learning across disciplines.

Through online and in-person educational models and using the latest educational technology, this individual will help mold the next generation of Radiologic Technologists. NWHSU recently invested in a dedicated lab with new equipment to support instruction in this program. The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for teaching didactic courses, clinical courses; coordination and supervision of clinical supervisors and final evaluation and progression decisions for students in collaboration with clinical supervisors and program chair. In addition, this position will seek out new clinical partnerships and conduct site visits.

This full-time position will have both direct instruction and lab teaching responsibilities and will be assigned courses to teach in the program each trimester. Teaching will account for 75% of this role.

The Clinical Coordinator responsibilities will account for 25% of this role. This individual will oversee the placement of clinical interns each term at our clinical partners all clinics for the Radiologic Technology program.

This is a year-round faculty position, where academic rank and compensation will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed.

Duties:

Clinical Coordinator:

  • Acts as liaison between the Radiologic Technology program and affiliated clinic sites to ensure appropriate policy adherence and placement of clinical interns.
  • Advise students on all matters related to the clinic internship experience.
  • Oversee communication and follow through on all intern requirements
  • Manage clinic entrance requirements and graduation requirements for Radiologic Technology students
  • Ongoing analysis of interns' progression through the internship curriculum.
  • Actively seeks out new clinical partnerships
  • Monitor student clinical hours and radiation safety badge reports
  • Maintain national ARRT registration and assist the program chair with accreditation requirements.

Teaching Faculty:

  • Manage course curriculum, design, development, and delivery to create an engaging and meaningful student learning experience.
  • Maintain a responsive and respectful student learning environment that ensures a quality education and supports students to achieve their educational goals.
  • Achieve technological literacy, knowledge, and innovative use of modern teaching technologies including active learning and the use of computers and multi-media in lectures, laboratories, and distance learning environments.
  • Respond to student questions and concerns to achieve resolutions according to established university processes.
  • Manage course and programmatic records such as enrollment, grades, student performance in a timely manner as set forth by the university, division, and college.
  • Maintain regular office hours and timely communication for student support and advising.
  • Participate in events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as determined by the Program Chair or Dean.
  • Promote a community of belonging and engage with diverse individuals of varying cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and abilities to maintain good working relationships across the University and College.
  • Collaborate in the development of new courses and implement strategies to enhance and upgrade current courses including curriculum development, review, and revision.
  • Participate in professional and occupational development to maintain a depth of understanding in the Medical Laboratory field and contribute to current knowledge of the discipline.

What you need to have?

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2-years of clinical experience
  • Experience in a radiologic technology education setting preferred
  • Good-standing registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
