Position Information:

The Custodial Lead is a working lead responsible for assigned janitorial duties while planning, assigning and providing oversight of the work of two evening custodial staff to provide a clean and safe environment at NWHSU. This position is accountable for planning, scheduling, coordinating work assignments, , and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Facilities Director and provides work direction to 2-3 full-time evening custodians. This position may also oversee working areas of contracted cleaning staff as needed.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible opportunity. This is an evening position (3pm-11:30pm, Mon-Fri) with occasional weekend requirements.

Bloomington, MN on-site.


  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible custodial work experience, preferably in an academic or health care setting
  • Floor care experience (such as stripping, waxing, and buffing)required.
  • Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials and ability to operate various cleaning equipment
  • Good customer service, communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct custodial inspections and provide training as needed
  • Ability to walk throughout the campus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to create reports
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff/faculty, students, and visitors and collaborate cooperatively within a team.
