Position Information:

The Retail Store Sales and Shipping Associate is the main point of contact between the University Retail Store and the Retail Store's wide and diverse customer base. This person should offer accurate, professional and congenial customer service in all aspects of a variety of duties in support of Retail Store operations. This employee also performs all the shipping duties for the Retail Store.

This is a full-time opportunity, 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with occasional weekends.

Bloomington, MN in-person


  • Builds customer clientele by making customer satisfaction the store's top priority
  • Manages customer satisfaction by processing orders following packaging standards and shipping orders in a timely manner
  • Ensures a fast and efficient checkout for customers. Processes all register transactions promptly and accurately
  • Consistently develops in-depth product knowledge by reading merchandise packaging, product brochures, vendor information and by asking questions as necessary
  • Moves and stocks merchandise to sales floor
  • Monitors online and retail store orders and shipping


  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Required
  • 1-3 years of experience as a retail sales associate preferred
  • For purchasing duties, some familiarity with and experience in procurement and/or buying desired

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires daily bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, lifting or moving up to 40lbs and standing for long periods of time.
