Position Information:

This is an adjunct faculty position. This individual will teach the online course: The Art of Persuasion. All human communication tries to have some kind of effect on an audience. This course will give students information and skills related to the art of persuasion. Students will learn basic principles, theories, and techniques, and will study how deeply persuasion is embedded in every area of human endeavor. They will become better persuaders, as well as more skeptical consumers of other people's attempts at persuasion.

This is a part-time position, working approximately 7 hours per week.

Work Location:

Fully remote.

Duties:

  • Deliver the assigned course throughout the term using the asynchronous format.
  • Create a clear syllabus with all required and relevant content
  • Utilize effective teaching and learning strategies designed to assist students in attaining the competencies outlined in the syllabus.
  • Engage in regular and substantive interaction with students in ways that supports learning in the course.
  • Deliver meaningful assessment strategies to determine student attainment of course competencies.
  • Assign grades based on grading policies outlined in the syllabus and student performance on assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree is required
  • Doctoral degree is preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience teaching at the undergraduate level required
  • Experience teaching online is preferred for online courses
