Description:

The College of Chiropractic has an opportunity for a faculty member to teach the Starting Practice in Canada elective course. The course offering is dependent on enrollment. Faculty member will work part-time, approximately 15 hours per trimester, on a term-by-term basis.

Work Location:

Fully remote.

Course Catalog Description:

This course is an overview of the essentials needed to start a Chiropractic career in Canada. Students will be provided with a step by step guide for a smooth transition to practice in Canada.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe the chiropractic licensure process in Canada
  2. Evaluate the Canadian insurance system and the types of insurance policies
  3. Summarize professional and association fees
  4. Evaluate practice and records management tools
  5. Summarize the types of Chiropractic practice options
  6. Differentiate continuing education licensure requirements
  7. Examine best practices for getting started in Canada

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Chiropractic degree
  • Experience offering chiropractic clinical care, in Canada
  • Experience with the Canadian Health Care System
  • United States Resident or Citizen
