Northwestern Health Sciences University invites applications for a 1.0 FTE Ranked Faculty position in our Nutrition Program. This is a 12-month, faculty position where academic rank and compensation will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Founded in 1941, NWHSU is a progressive institution educating the next generation of health care professionals. While the institution's history is rooted in the chiropractic profession, NWHSU now focuses more broadly on integrative care, health, and wellness. In addition to our Doctor of Chiropractic, we offer a Doctor in Chinese Medicine, and offerings in massage therapy, nutrition, undergraduate health sciences, and the allied health professions - medical assisting, medical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, radiation therapy, and radiologic technology. Position Information:

The Nutrition Program Chair reports to the Dean of College of Health and Wellness and serves as the Nutrition Program leader. The role of the Program Chair is to provide leadership and management for the Nutrition program. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible opportunity.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee Curriculum Assessment and processes designed to improve Student Learning.
  • Leadership and management of the Nutrition program and faculty
  • Fiscal oversight of the program
  • Teaching (The Program Chair will teach six Faculty Load Credits on average per term)

Position Qualifications:

  • Master's degree is required, although a Doctoral or professional degree is preferred
    • Educational program should be in Nutritional Sciences with a focus on functional and integrative approaches to nutrition
  • 5+ years of experience with 3-5 years in a managerial role
  • Licensed Dietician/Nutritionist
  • Registered Dietician/Nutritionist

Other Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience with functional and integrative approaches to nutrition
  • Experience teaching online
  • The ability to perform multiple activities/tasks in an organized and logical manner
  • The ability to direct attention to multiple tasks
  • The organizational and diplomatic skills necessary to work effectively with and lead the faculty
  • Capable of using common application software such as Microsoft Office and enterprise management systems
