Position Information:

The Maintenance Technician maintains facility interiors and exteriors. This role keeps buildings, mechanical systems and equipment running properly to ensure safe and effective environments.  This position also performs preventative and corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds as needed.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible opportunity working Monday - Friday from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance
    • Inspects building and grounds to determine nature and extent of repairs or maintenance needed
    • Operates, repairs, and maintains the HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and computerized climate control systems
    • Operates and maintains plumbing systems
    • Performs snow removal activities and maintenance of grounds, including sprinkler system and landscaping
    • Ensures all walkways and stairways are free of obstructions, trip hazards, snow, ice, etc
    • Operates and tests all safety and emergency equipment
    • Cleans, paints, and maintains interiors and exteriors of buildings
  • Repair
    • Performs remodeling work; repairs sheet rock, replaces tile, repairs carpet, paints, assembles office systems, etc
    • Makes minor electrical, HVAC, and plumbing repairs
    • Makes minor safety and emergency equipment repairs
    • Makes necessary repairs to interiors and exteriors of buildings
  • Event Set Up & Tear Down
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma plus some specialized training of less than two years is required, but an Associate degree or two-year program is preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in general building maintenance 
  • Pool certification (or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Valid driver's license
  • MN Special Engineer Boiler Operator (or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)

  • Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, cooling, ventilating, and emergency equipment and systems
  • Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, and repair
  • Strong service, quality attitude, and initiative
